“Have you ever wondered how it feels like to always be a step behind, always of a beat? To be perpetually in a state of confusion and watching your peers always be seemingly ahead of you. Students with learning disability experience this every day. If statistics are to be believed, around 15% of all children studying in school suffer from learning disorders out of which 25% of them study in a government school. Fortunately, the past decade has witnessed a sudden spurt in the recognition of learning disabilities in India. This sensitivity has benefited children in the mainstream schools but children in government school are yet to receive the support and concern they deserve.
