How a group of working middle-class women are tackling garbage and patriarchy head on

“A group of travellers, after a day-long journey, reached a village tired and famished. As was the tradition, they went around the village asking for food. To their surprise, they had no luck in this endeavour as the villagers themselves had little to no food left. One household only had a single cauliflower, the other only beans while one had nothing left but salt! Disappointed but not defeated, the travellers decided to set up a campsite near a stream and built a fire. They used the largest pot they possessed, filled it with stones and water from the nearby stream and put it to boil. Amused, a few villagers quizzed them on their current activity, to which the travellers replied that they are making ‘Stone soup’ and everyone is welcome to share. Soon, almost the whole village assembled near the pot. One of the travellers tasted the soup and claimed it was lacking cauliflower. Instantly, one of the villagers ran and brought cauliflower from home. Similarly, someone bought carrot, beans, and salt and eventually the soup was ready for the whole village to enjoy, with the camaraderie and team-work of both the villagers and the travellers on showcase.”
