How this Chandigarh team is turning determined underprivileged students into qualified professionals


 

As per Ministry of Human Resources and Development, in the year 2014, 29.95cr students were enrolled in schools till senior secondary level in India. However, only 14.10cr students went ahead joined college for under graduation or technical courses; i.e. a dropout rate of 47%.  This is the gap which needs to be filled with great urgency if we are to progress as a nation.  If we keep gender and ignorance aside for a moment, it is the family’s severe financial crisis that prevents them from the privilege to study further and improve their lives. However, there have been several instances of these students proving their mettle at the national level once given the right opportunities and resources. We often get to read about them in newspapers and are in awe of what they achieve with minimum resources. But we rarely go beyond our boundaries to actually tangibly help these prodigies. Do we? However, somewhere in Chandigarh, a visionary team has pledged to take it beyond that.
