The 12th Annual Manthan Award for best South Asian Digital Content recently honoured a host of winners in 12 categories who are using ICT for developmental purposes on 3rd December 2015 at The Indian Habitat centre, New Delhi. It will be ecstatic for our readers to know that amongst the 27 winners who have been honoured ,The Optimist Citizen was declared a winner by the Grand jury in the E – News and journalism category for developing an online and offline newspaper ( both print and digital ) focussing only on positive news and optimistic stories.
The renowned award saw 412 nominations across 13 categories. The virtual Jury members managed to filter 165 entries for the final evaluation by the Grand Jury. A panel of 16 Jury members looked into the filtered nominations, bringing it to 51 finalists. The collective knowledge of all the jurors let to a powerful discussion on each and every nomination. After the discussion and joint voting system, the Grand Jury selected Winners and Special Mentions of Manthan Awards 2015.
The award honours exemplary digital innovations having a monumental impact in their respective fields and acts as a milestone for the organizations to strive for a bigger change. Winning this award is a win for positivity, it is a win for the youth who have decided to walk the positive road, it is a win for their parents who have trusted them and encouraged them to walk this path, and it is a win for all Subscribers and readers of TOC. It is a WIN of the positive revolution that is slowly brewing, and steadily spreading to bring back hope, optimism and confidence in society inspiring many others in its way.
